Felagia began with one dog.
When my dog developed atopic skin disease and severe food allergies, everyday care suddenly became much more complicated. Finding products that were truly gentle—without unnecessary fragrance, harsh cleansers or long ingredient lists—proved more difficult than I expected.
What started as a search for better products soon became a passion for understanding canine skin. I spent countless hours reading scientific literature, learning about the skin barrier, surfactants, ingredients, and how thoughtful formulation can make a difference for dogs with sensitive skin.
The more I learned, the more I realized that dogs deserve the same level of care and ingredient transparency that we increasingly expect from our own skincare.
That idea became Felagia.
Our shampoo bars are developed with a simple philosophy: every ingredient should have a purpose. We carefully select modern, skin-friendly ingredients that cleanse effectively while respecting the skin's natural barrier. We leave out added fragrance and essential oils, not because they're trendy to avoid, but because we believe they are unnecessary in products designed for dogs.
Inspired by Nordic simplicity, we prioritize Finnish and organic ingredients whenever possible, carefully choosing each one for its quality, sustainability, and skin benefits. When an ingredient isn't available from Finland, we source high-quality alternatives that meet our standards for safety and performance.
Our formulas are minimalist, gentle, and thoughtfully designed. We choose ingredients such as amino acid-based surfactants, natural osmolytes, prebiotics, and carefully selected botanical extracts to support healthy skin and a soft, clean coat.
Felagia isn't about creating the most complicated products. It's about creating products we'd feel confident using on our own dogs.
